Green and red apples contain vitamin C, potassium, pectin, and are rich in phytonutrients (polyphenols, carotenes and quercetin).
Pineapples are rich in vitamin C, manganese and enzymes, particularly bromelain. Lemons are a strong source of vitamin C, bioflavonoids and limonene while ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol.
Apple juice contains antioxidant polyphenols and pectin which can act as natural anti-inflammatories and have been studied for their benefits in many diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, cardiovascular disease (lowering triglycerides and cholesterol), type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer, through their beneficial effects on gut bacteria balance.
