Nutritional, vitamin and mineral content:
Cucumber contains molybdenum, vitamins K and B5 and is a strong source of phytonutrients. Green apples contain vitamin C, potassium, pectin, and are rich in phytonutrients (polyphenols, carotenes and quercetin). Spinach contains vitamins A, K, E, C, folate, B1, B2, B6 and minerals magnesium, manganese, copper, and iron as well as chlorophyll. Lime juice is rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids and contains folate while parsley contains vitamins A, K, E, C, B1, B3, folate, minerals magnesium, copper and iron and chlorophyll. It’s also rich in volatile oils and phytonutrients with a range of health benefits.
Cucumber contains natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant phytonutrients, particularly flavonoids and tannins which are effective at blocking free radicals and may reduce the risk of chronic disease. It also contains fisetin, an exciting phytonutrient compound that’s been studied for its risk reduction in relation to certain types of cancer and its positive effects on blood sugar regulation.
Apple juice contains antioxidant polyphenols and pectin which can act as natural anti-inflammatories and have been studied for their benefits in many diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, cardiovascular disease (lowering triglycerides and cholesterol), type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer, through their beneficial effects on gut bacteria balance.
